Energy Performance Contracting (EnPC)

The energy consumed by your large drive systems can account for a massive part of your OPEX and add to your CO₂ footprint. Often, there are significant savings potentials that can be tapped into by taking largely non-invasive steps, especially if mechanical drive speed regulators are being used. Our multi-step approach can help you progress in varying levels of service from product up to financing your low-energy venture. Save money. Reduce CO₂ emissions. Avoid risk, uncertainty and distraction.

Bringing energy expertise to your large drive application

Guaranteed energy savings with performance-based contracting

Especially where the drive system is being controlled by a mechanical damper, we can usually discover big wastage. In the case of a fan, for example, having the same speed and energy setting independent to usage is not a smart option. Change to a variable speed drive set-up using a converter, though, and you can typically save up to 60% of your drive’s energy cost and CO₂ emissions.

Make big energy savings without risk and contribute to a low carbon society. Guaranteed.

Reduction of CO₂ emissions
This translates directly to CO₂ outputs, which not only benefits the environment, but also often opens up sources of grants and funds to help finance the technological upgrade.

Save money
Between 20% - 60% of your drive system energy consumption is wasted. In one case, we helped a cement producer save €200k p.a. in just one mill. Once we’ve looked at your potential, we will be able to contractually guarantee your savings.

Upgrade benefits can be harvested by yourself with a guaranteed ROI which is typically between 6 and 40 months. Alternatively, delegate your energy performance to us and we’ll get you saving without the hassle. We can even take care of the financing if you wish, saving you CAPEX.

With Energy Performance Contracting, Innomotics* enabled us to optimize the energy use of our plant. Each year, we save over 900 MWh of electrical energy, which supports the activities for improving the sustainability of Südzucker AG.

Sustainability targets reached without CAPEX due to EnPC
  • Optimization of FD fan control system in the industrial power station, change from inlet vain control to VSD, one-time verification of savings.
  • Energy efficiency project will be financed by energy savings and will also help the customer to achieve further direct savings.
  • Innomotics (former Siemens* Large Drives) provides financial compensation according to the contract model for contractually assured savings that are not achieved. Profits gained through exceeding targets will be shared.
Energy savings and greater productivity due to a Retrofit
  • Greater productivity through optimized speed and process performance
  • Improved flexibility, with faster run-up/run-down times
  • Standardization, reduced size and line attendance
