Dynamically developing drive technology together

Reference Kühne + Vogel

Innomotics motor for Kühne+Vogel

At a glance

To implement automation and drive projects for demanding technological manufacturing processes with maximum customer benefits. This is the task of Kühne + Vogel, based in Roth in Central Franconia, Germany.
Technology from Innomotics also plays an important role here.

Expand system boundaries, achieve maximum benefits

Kühne + Vogel can look back on more than 35 years of successfully supplying equipment for the paper industry, wire and cable production and the foil and converting industries. "We always focus on the customer's process. Our know-how is consequentially geared to the specific requirements of our customers," emphasizes Thorsten Hirschmüller CEO of the company.

The company's products set themselves apart through their ability to be integrated, transparency and cost effectiveness. In particular, by using solutions based on "Totally Integrated", Kühne + Vogel is continually developing new systems while innovating existing ones. This gives them the edge to breakdown boundaries between IT, open-loop control technology and drive technology. As a medium-sized company in an international corporation, automation and drive projects can be implemented to achieve maximum customer benefits – quickly, efficiently and with outstanding creativity.

For me, establishing Innomotics as a separate brand represents a great opportunity to continue to dynamically develop the know-how that has been built up over many decades.

Torsten Hirschmüller, CEO

Developing customer-optimized solutions

Setting new standards together

Siemens* and now Innomotics have been closely collaborating with Kühne + Vogel for decades. As the requirements of customers are always different and individual, the company also particularly appreciates the fact that it can access Innomotics' technical support and jointly develop customer-optimized solutions. Hirschmüller: "Although the name has changed, we can certainly rely on the momentum that has been demonstrated in recent years and which will continue to be developed."

Production processes with continuous material webs

To be able to leverage automation and drive technology efficiently and in a targeted manner, drive and automation engineers must understand the users' manufacturing processes down to the finest detail. This is why Kühne+Vogel focuses on production processes with continuous material webs. This places special demands on the technology, as drive-specific parameters such as speed, torque and web tension have to be taken into account as well as a large number of other quality-determining process parameters such as temperature, pressure, material thickness and surface finish.
With outstanding know-how and by consequentially applying state-of-the-art digital drive systems, bus and control technologies, the company will continue to build on its long-standing success. We are happy to be their partner!
