Shovels
Innomotics (former Siemens Large Drives) Mobile Mining offers proven drive and control solutions for large electric shovel excavators. The combination of nearly 50 years of experience in AC drives and 20 years of experience with IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) technology has led to premium electric drive systems for shovel excavators that guarantee a maximum of excavation productivity and a minimum of operating costs.
Generally, shovels equipped with AC drives are able to operate faster than those with DC drives. AC induction motors allow higher stall torque, faster acceleration and higher speeds in field weakening. AC technology is beneficial for all shovel motions. Due to the enhanced performance, cycle times are minimized.
